WHO WE ARE
Advocates for the Elderly and Disabled is a non-profit public interest law firm providing legal services to the most vulnerable, sick, injured, disabled, and elderly. We offer low-cost legal services and advocacy to low-income elderly disabled people and their families.
We can help in medical malpractice, negligence, elder abuse & neglect, family law matters, and consumer protection.
We are a small non-profit law firm committed to making a big difference in the community. We work remotely and ask that all potential clients have reliable access to electronic communication and telephone.
We are committed to meeting the need for access to justice for the elderly and disabled people and their families with low and fixed incomes that can't get legal help at legal aid organizations and can't pay the customary fees for the legal services.
Health and Safety measures for the in-person visits are implemented. We enforce social distancing, masks, sanitizing between customers, contactless payments, and symptom checks.
OUR INTAKE PROCESS
We screen all of our calls and implement an intake process. The initial screening takes only a few minutes. The complete intake process may take a few days. Please be patient as we have to make sure that we are the right firm for your needs. When you reach out to us, we will ask you several personal questions about your financial situation, disability status, demographics, marital status, living situation, and legal problem that needs resolving. We decide whether we can help you based on the information that you provide to us. If we can't accommodate your needs at our firm, we will provide appropriate referrals.
If we can help with your legal matter, we will reach out to you to schedule an appointment to obtain additional information, a written retainer agreement, and discuss any other information pertinent to your legal problem.
If you feel that we are not a good fit, please contact any other agency or Lawyer Referral Services. Please look under our "Resources" page for additional information and websites that you are welcome to use.
